A Bright Smile

I spent my Labor Day download notes on a scandal online download dead silence in a shopping centre. At noon, I packed up all the things that I need i.e. my laptop, portable mouse, extra laptop battery, books, papers, and stationeries.
Yep, you are right. I decided to do some of my work there. The weather is terribly hot (in my house) and rather than complain about it at home, I choose to change my working environment.
Besides the free refreshing air-cond, I can also have a nice sip of coffee at some of the restaurants (Yes, I move from one restaurant to another) and benefit from the positive energies emitted by the crowd of people who are enjoying their public holiday.
Okay, to make the long story short, after a happy, satisfying and tiring day (8 hours later), I decided to pack up and go home.
But before I went off, I’d like to buy some delicious cakes from Secret Recipe for one of my neighbor (and her kids).
While I was browsing through the cakes, a guy pops out jumping from the inside (literally) and ask me if I’d want to buy some cakes. I can’t believe that he asked me the same thing in 4 different languages (which I understand).
I was surprised by his welcoming gesture. He really looks like a kid. His smile never seemed to leave his face. What a positive energy I got over here.
He’s a fun guy and he even helped me to recommend some popular cakes after seeing my “spoilt for choice” face.
While waiting for the other girl to pack my cakes and process my credit card, we had a friendly chat.
Overall, I am very happy with the service he provided. I have never come across to such a friendly waiter like him. The way he served me totally recharged my energy (okay, not totally).
And before I left, I said to him, “You are very motivated in doing your work and you seem to be happy everyday”
“We all should. It’s important to be happy everyday,” he replied with a grin.
I wish I can take a photo with him (I have one in my bag) and share it with you but I didn’t because I don’t want to disturb his work.
His small little action has brought back the energized positive energy within me. It’s not about the smile but the positive energy within the smile.
So, if you are working in the customer service line, make sure you wear your smile all the time and shine it out with you passion. That way, you will enhance your life and other’s too.

It’s an amazing experience. I wish I have that as well. But I get the opposite.
Anyway, it’s really rare to see people being so positive, energetic and know “the importance of being happy everyday”.

I know exactly what that experience did for you. Sometimes on harried shopping trip when you are trying to fit in everything, just one sales assistant can make it all better if they are cheerful, well informed about their job and willing to help out.

That’s exactly it is. I was having a great time dealing with that guy.
That’s the reason why there is a lot of emphasize on customer service nowadays. I am not surprise that you will go back to that shop again due to that guy excellent service.
