2628784543 f471eb22d1 m Are You Using The Right Vocabulary?
I was watching Dr. Joe Vitale’s download reality bites online presentation and there’s one thing that I find it very interesting and would like to bring it up today.

It’s one of the common mistakes that leads to the failure in manifesting ones goal with the Law of Attraction.

Let me ask you this.

What would you say to yourself when you want something?

Most people would use phrases like:

I want to eat ice-cream.

I want a million dollar a year.

I want him/her to be my significant others. download sgt bilko

Do you see the problem here?

No?

Okay, I’ll explain.

When you use the word “want”, you are implying that you don’t have it. If you are thinking and feeling that you don’t have it, according to the Law of Attraction, you’ll never have it.

The word “Want” also send a message to your sub-conscious mind and to the universe that you just want it but not actually want to own it.

How dangerous is that?

Here’s the remedy:

Instead of using the phrase, I want to blah blah blah.

Try these phrases:

I choose to have …

I now have … download you ve got mail

I intend to have …

neverending story the download

I little tweak on your words will make a huge different.

For example:

I choose to live in a big mansion in Maui.

I now have my financial freedom.

I intend to have a happy life.

Are you ready to make this simple tweak that will change your life? 80% won’t and I hope you are in the group of 20%.

Law of Attraction Isn’t hard if you know how.

If you CHOOSE to learn more from Joe VItale aka Mr. Fire, Click here and and you’ll find a place where he share his secrets on how he attracts a new car (which is pretty amazing).

Let me know when you have attracted your new car.

      Hi Raymond,

This is a good post and helps to clarify the struggle between our affirmations, sub-conscious mind and the reality of our present situation.

Re-stating our affirmations like your examples can help our sub-conscious mind to accept our desire more easily based on our current situations.

Mong Ling and I were just discussing about this during yesterday’s lunch!

      Rgds,
      Hai Liang

      Hi Hai Liang,

I find it amazing too. I made the same mistake until early this year.

It’s expensive for not educating our self properly. ;)

Yes i get you: there is a huge difference between ‘i want ice cream’ and ‘i’m going to get myself some ice cream”

    • raymond

      Hi Nicole,

I’m glad that you can see the huge difference. :)

    • http://www.norhafidz.com Norhafidz

I’ve always use ‘want’, now I’m not going to use it again :P

Now that’s a handy tip to follow. If you know that you are going to get it, it will come to you.

    • raymond

      Hi Eva,

That correct. Nature abhors vacuum. :)

    • http://www.writemorestuff.com/ Andrea

that is interesting, but it does help you to have a mindset of a willingness to have something..

Thanks for sharing your perspective, Andrea. :)

Great, thanks so much; I myself have used I “will” but I do like your phrases better I choose, I intend, and I now

Thank you, this blog has really helped my change some of the way of think and it is very useful on all accounts.

The words we employ are no doubt important. I choose to now to be ready to make this simple tweak that will change my life. PS. Where did you watch Mr Vitale’s presentation – in person, during a webinar, on-line (YouTube?).

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

Hi Beat, I watch him online. Both through webinars and youtubes.

I atttened a seminar given by Esther and Jerry Hicks, who as you know are the originators of the “Secret.”

They discussed the “wanting” of things and agreed that it gave the wrong message to the Universe.

But their main point was that we then add -

“But I could never have that.”

They said that cancels the wanting immediately.

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

         Hi Corrine,

I watched several of their presentations too and I totally agree with you. That’s why I suggest Andrew to exclude the time factor because it indicates that you don’t have it yet and that sends the wrong message to the universe.

        • http://twitter.com/andrewrondeau Andrew Rondeau

This is now a little confusing for me.

To me the word ‘intend’ does mean I don’t have it yet.

So…by using ‘intend’ aren’t we sending the wrong message to the universe?

          Andrew

          • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

Hmm … if it creates that kind of emotion in you, then I suggest you choose another words which gives you a sense of belonging.

The feeling and emotion weight a lot on the equation.

    • http://twitter.com/andrewrondeau Andrew Rondeau

I do think using the right vocabulary makes a huge difference in our thinking.

      What about time?

Should we be adding time, for instance:

I intend to have the new Honda Civic Diesel car by end October 2012

      Andrew

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

Hey Andrew, thanks for adding flavor to the post. The time factor is important when you have control over the whole process and the result. (e.g. saving a certain amount of money from your total income)

However, when you don’t have any control over the environment, (e.g. lucky draw, win from competition) I suggest that you do not add time to the equation.

        • http://twitter.com/andrewrondeau Andrew Rondeau

Thanks for coming back and replying.

I have replied to your comment to Corinne.

I have read the book “The Secret” and I have also watched it’s documentary. Ever since, I have been applying what I learned into daily life and the results are great. A part of what I have learned is the choice of words; making them more positive and stating as if it is really about to happen.

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

I can’t agree more. The words we use creates our destiny.

A small tweak can make a big difference, I see what you’re saying here. A change in mindset can have an effect, thanks!

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

Hi Joel, you’re right. A tiny change can create a huge effect. Butterfly effect for example.

    • Amy LeForge

Raymond, as you know I’m not a huge fan of the Law of Attraction, but I do agree 100% that your attitude determines your altitude.  Visualizing success will make it that much more likely in life.  Thanks for the post!

      • http://attractingyourgoals.com/ Raymond CHua

That’s right. No one can deny the power of attitude and visualization. The results are obvious.

Hi Raymond,  I am up and kind of running so I’ll join in.  It is amazing what one word can do.

You always have to use the positive words.  “Wanting” is not one of them.  To me it sounds like you are complaining because you don’t have it.

As for Andrew and the Honda Civic, I would start seeing it setting in my driveway too!  Hey it’s a big order so use everything you have!

Sit in your easy chair close your eye’s and just see (visualize)it sitting out there.

Any way i do agree with you, You have to say and think it like it has already happened and than your mind will come up with the ways to make it so.’

That is my 2 cents worth, nice post Raymond.
Blessings to you, now I am going to visualize my PC working as good as a babies skin is soft,
      Debbie

         Hi Debbie,

The word list are definitely stretching and allow for a bit more
detailed use and meaning of the words than perhaps just reviewing words
in context, which I have done in the past as well.

The words we choose are really important, Law of Attraction or not. The more specific we are, the more likely we will accomplish what we want or need to accomplish.

This is especially true in relationships of all kinds. Using loaded language v neutral focused language in a discussion can mean the difference between a fight and a solution to a rather minor disagreement. About 90% of problems are communication problems. I’ve found it best to talk to someone in person. We communicate a lot with body language, more than the words we’re using.

      Great and thoughtful post,
      Sherri

There is so much vocabulary in the world,
how do you go about using the words at the right time in your writing? Like…
memorizing them all and remembering them. I memorize vocab the first time I see
