Are You Using The Right Vocabulary?
July 7, 2008 | 9 Comments

I was watching Dr. Joe Vitale’s download reality bites online presentation and there’s one thing that I find it very interesting and would like to bring it up today.
It’s one of the common mistakes that leads to the failure in manifesting ones goal with the Law of Attraction.
Let me ask you this.
What would you say to yourself when you want something?
Most people would use phrases like:
I want to eat ice-cream.
I want a million dollar a year.
I want him/her to be my significant others.

Do you see the problem here?
No?
Okay, I’ll explain.
When you use the word “want”, you are implying that you don’t have it. If you are thinking and feeling that you don’t have it, according to the Law of Attraction, you’ll never have it.
The word “Want” also send a message to your sub-conscious mind and to the universe that you just want it but not actually want to own it.
How dangerous is that?
Here’s the remedy:
Instead of using the phrase, I want to blah blah blah.
Try these phrases:
I choose to have …
I now have …
I intend to have …
I little tweak on your words will make a huge different.
For example:
I choose to live in a big mansion in
Maui .I now have my financial freedom.
I intend to have a happy life.
Are you ready to make this simple tweak that will change your life? 80% won’t and I hope you are in the group of 20%.
Law of Attraction
isn’t hard if you know how.

Hi Raymond,
This is a good post and helps to clarify the struggle between our affirmations, sub-conscious mind and the reality of our present situation.
Re-stating our affirmations like your examples can help our sub-conscious mind to accept our desire more easily based on our current situations.
Mong Ling and I were just discussing about this during yesterday’s lunch!

Hi Hai Liang,
I find it amazing too. I made the same mistake until early this year.
It’s expensive for not educating our self properly.
Yes i get you: there is a huge difference between ‘i want ice cream’ and ‘i’m going to get myself some ice cream”
Hi Nicole,
I’m glad that you can see the huge difference.
I’ve always use ‘want’, now I’m not going to use it again
Now that’s a handy tip to follow. If you know that you are going to get it, it will come to you.
Hi Eva,
That correct. Nature abhors vacuum.
that is interesting, but it does help you to have a mindset of a willingness to have something..
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Andrea.
