Let’s start it with the stress management tips of this month.
Drink plenty of water to reduce your stress. Water is an amazingly simple solution because it makes you feel full, removes toxins from your body, and makes it easier for you to stay focused. Because of all these things, it can make your stress dissipate to a more manageable level. Try to drink about two liter, or 8-10 cups of water daily; that will produce the best results and decrease stress.
Spearmint oil is a good stress reliever. Apply a small amount of spearmint oil to your neck and temples when you feel stressed. Small gestures like this are often very efficient in making you feel more relaxed.
Self-hypnosis is a great way to handle irritation from repetitive, annoying gestures or activities. Many people find that self-hypnosis can help them learn how to better deal with minor problems in their lives, like a bothersome co-worker or issues dealing with your emotions.
One way to handle stress is by looking at something that is soothing to the eyes. The visual appeal of natural scenes can be relaxing to your mind. If these pictures are not available to you, simply shut your eyes and imagine these places. You will be at peace if you imagine yourself in peaceful settings like these. (I painted my office green for this purpose. SERIOUSLY!)
Smile more, and you will feel naturally less stressed. Smiling targets your brain’s emotional center through the muscles this action uses. Smiling will tilt your limbic system to a calmer state, which is a great way to lower your stress levels.
Spending time cuddling with pets can decrease your heart rate. Merely petting a furry animal can help mitigate any stress that you feel. Watching your pet as it goes through life in the moment can be a learning experience in itself. Living with pets can help you feel more relaxed and better able to cope with the world.
A good way to combat issues you are having with learning your course material is to simply hire a tutor or visit your school’s tutoring center. With the help of a tutor, you can learn the subject quicker and more thoroughly so that when the test time comes, you will be relaxed and familiar with the material. Being well prepared will cut down on your stress level tremendously. That’s what I do to help my students.
Reduce stress with deep breathing exercises. Stress causes quick, shallow breaths which reduce your oxygen intake, so learn how to breath correctly to relieve stress. This controlled breathing is a key to controlling stress and it is wise to incorporate it into your daily routine.
Let the people know that surround you that the stress you feel isn’t their fault. Often, your family, especially kids, will not understand your stress, and they will feel like it was caused by something they did. Since your stress is under your control, you shouldn’t blame it on the people that surround you.
Try to relax by closing your eyes and listening to some soft music. Activities that soothe your senses can help stress or tension melt away. Classical music has a calming therapeutic effect. By listening to soothing music, your mind will fill itself with pleasant, relaxing imagery. This technique can be most helpful in managing your stress levels and can be practiced just about anywhere.
Schedule time to allow yourself to stress. Don’t allow yourself to be overwhelmed by minor worries.
To keep anxiety at a minimum, always conduct yourself and your affairs honestly. People that tell lies feel guilty and anxiety can ensue.
Find out where your stress is coming from. When you learn about what puts you under stress and increases your stress levels, you are in a better position to work to reduce it. Stress can be caused by your reaction or attitude towards a certain person, object or event. Do your best to avoid exposure to what causes you stress until you feel ready to face it.
Meditation is a wonderful way to relax you muscles and clear you mind. Meditation calms the mind, and can help you feel less stressed from anxiety. Listening to calm music and relaxing in a quiet place is a great way to meditate for a few moments a day.
Make a list of your stressors and number them from one to ten according to the amount of stress they cause you. Make one a simple problem and a ten the worst problem possible. When you do this, you can train your mind to not stress over little things that shouldn’t be stressed over either way.
