I’m Sorry That I messed Things Up
January 12, 2008 | 14 Comments
Do you remember that 3 days ago, I told you that it was the last day to vote for me (by clicking on the banner at the top right corner of this blog).
When I found out that it was actually the closing date for the registration/application of the contest and NOT the closing date for voting, my heart nearly stopped beating (sweat).
The first thing that came out to my mind was, “How am I going to tell my readers, social networking friends, mastermind group, the bunch of great friends from my coaching club and other circles of online friends?â€
“They will think that I"m trying to create the buzz and manipulate them to vote for meâ€
You know, all sorts of negative feelings just vomit out from my mind.
I can"t believe it
I can"t believe that the negative thoughts just came out so quickly and naturally without warning.
Being aware of my thoughts and emotions, I quickly caught the negativities and tried to turn it around.
How?
First of all, I know that I must calm myself down first. I quickly remember the advice of one of my mentors, Storm. Yes, that"s his name. On of the lesson he taught me was, “to be in the eye of stormâ€.
It means that when everything else is messing up like a storm, we must stay in the eye of storm (the center part of the storm) which is nothing but a pure calmness.
With this simple idea, I manage to shift my emotions in a twinkle of an eye.
All right, I have settled the emotional part.
Now, it"s time to shift my thought
Though I have calmed a lot, my mind was still bombarded with the negative imagination and F.E.A.R (False Evidence Appearing Real). I kept thinking of how I have ruined everything. (Actually it"s not that bad, it"s just that I added too much fuel to the fire)
So, to counter this negative energy, I quickly find the diamond in this pile of stones. I kept on asking myself, “What benefits I can get from this incident?†and “how I can change my perspective?”
As you ask so you shall receive
I quickly got the answers to the questions I asked myself. The first benefit I can get from my misunderstanding is TIME!
I mean that I will have more time to get more votes and able to catch up with other competitors. Yes! That"s the thing I was wishing and hungry for when I thought it was the last day.
The second thing is, I make myself believe that all my readers and friends are going to understand my situation. I must apply the Law of Attraction to attract what I want instead of the otherwise.
I began to visualize myself receiving positive comments and emails instead of the negatives.
Now, I have my motivation back!
In the end, I have one more thing to write in my success journal for that day which is being able to change the negative feelings and emotions into totally positive in less than 10 minutes.
I hope you benefit from the story I share with you today. What do you think?
P.S. BTW, please keep on voting for me. The closing date is on the 18th of January 2008.
Just in case you do not know how, here"s the instruction:

I"m sorry again for mess things up. Please forgive me for the misunderstanding. I love you all and thank you for your understanding. (Ho’oponopono)
Watch out for tomorrow"s video.
Stay tune!

Raymond, I must applaud you for your splendid explanation! I love people who can turn negative thoughts into positive ones almost effortlessly. Some people may argue and tell me not to be too optimistic about things cause you’ll get your hopes too high and when things don’t equate have it all crashing down. But I say, why spend your time feeling miserable by being in the negative dark side when you can choose the sunny side. So yeah, Raymond, you really know how to turn things around for the better;)
Hi Rina,
Thanks to my awareness cos it helps me to nip the bud and stop the negative vibration from pouring out to the univese.
It’s our choice to stay on the bright or the dark side. Energy flows where attention goes.
I have come across to such kind of people too (those who choose to be on the dark side)and their life is never better.
At least you’re getting your banners up, Raymond. I submit my application 10 days ago, but only today I realized that my application accepted, but the confirmation email went to spam folder.
I stumble upon this email upon checking my spam email before doing clearance. What the heck.. Guess someone mark email from them as a spam before.
Hi Zaki,
I’m very sorry to hear that.
Luckily you check the spam folder and not trash them all straight away.
Better be late than never.
They are getting a lot of traffic and inbound links from this competition alone. Their Alexa ranking increase exponentially within a month!
Mistakes are inevitable and that is actually a good thing. The goal is personal growth and development not perfection. The ability to adjust our actions according to circumstances helps us to stay on course. The ability to see the benefits in any situation, even a challenging one reveals our heart.
I enjoy your blog – Thanks,
Jonathan Wells
Hi Raymond..
I really appreciate your explanation especially your effort to turn negative thoughts to positive. I think you should write more about it specifically on how to do it less than 10 minutes like what you did
Hi Jonathan,
I love to hear that you enjoy my blog.
“The goal is personal growth and development not perfection.”
I can’t agree more with you. Well said.
Thank you.
HI Zunnur,
I appreciate your interest in my writing. I think I have laid it all in this post. The rest is about action.
It’s so easy that I believe you can do it too.
Hi Raymond
You have just shown us the whole procedure/conditioning from overcoming those negative thoughts. Thank you for giving me a real life example to inspire myself further.
Thanks!
Hi Pearl,
You’re welcome. Sharing is just a part of my nature.
I hope you find it useful.
Loved your post. Hoping I to can stay in the eye of the storm. My emotions rule my life, and I often feel helpless to my own reactions. Yours was a inspiraton to change. Thank you so much again for you blog.
I presume it is because of ad-blocker, but I am not getting the “Y” in the right corner, I am using Firefox. I`ll try to turn of ad-blocker and see if that does the trick. You surly deserve the vote
Regards,
Benjamin
Struggling underachiever
Hi Benjamin,
Thank you for your vote (or at least your intention)
The banner doesn’t appear on my side too. Maybe their server crash again.
I sincerely hope that you can get back the throne to rule your mind and life again.
Believe it and you’ll get it. Use the power of the Law of Attraction.
Thanks for commenting. I’m looking forward for your participation.
Hey Raymond,
There is no need to apologize.
Do you know the saying about people living in glass houses?
In other words, we all make mistakes.
Such a sincere, wonderful person like you, I know you would never deliberately deceive.
All the best,
Gloria
Hi Gloria,
Thank you for your kind words.
You are a wonderful friend.
