I have read quite a number of Anthony Robbins divx abandoned books in the early stage of my life. Two of my most favorite books author by Anthony Robbins are Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within.
One of the greatest lessons I learn from the book is about the pain and pleasure. According to Anthony Robbins, we, the human beings are not random creatures. Even though there are good people and bad people.
There are people who are willing to risk their life to save a stranger while others will just prefer to stand aside and watch ONLY. This is a huge difference but Anthony Robbins believes otherwise.
He said that human behavior is control by one single driving force. They are PAIN and PLEASURE.
We tend to avoid pain and move towards pleasure. Here is an example:
Let"s say Ms ABC is currently overweight and she wants to lose her weights to keep herself healthy and look better. She makes a commitment to eat healthy diet and exercise for an hour every morning. This sounds pretty good. At least she knows what to do to solve her problem.
When tomorrow comes, she tries to get up early in the morning to begin her so-called intensive exercise. The moment when she tries to put on her sports gear, she feels the pain (emotionally).
She begins to imagine that it will be so much pain to go to exercise. She will be tired and breathless. The muscles will feel pain. That"s boring to go exercise alone (and other excuses).
It is such a cold morning and the breeze makes me want to go back to my bed and sleep again. Why want to go to exercise and waste this wonderful morning. It would be so nice to sleep for another 2 hours.
Then she goes to sleep. After she has wakened up, she begins to look for her breakfast. â€œI didn"t go to exercise as planned this morning, so I have to start my meat and poultry free meals today,â€ she thinks.
She takes out 2 apples from the fridge and begins to eat them away for her breakfast. In less than half an hour, she begins to feel hungry again. She tries to resist the temptation to eat but fails.
She makes a trip to her fridge again and takes out some cheese to make a sandwich. Then she picks up the phone and orders a pizza. She says to herself, â€œOk, okâ€¦ I"ll start my diet plan tomorrow.â€
When tomorrow comes, the whole entire process repeats and I believe you can guess the result.
