More times than not you give and then receive, but it’s a different kind of receiving. I once learned in my psychology class that there was this group who would stand out and give people flowers, as seemingly a token of reception. They would then watch them walk away with the flower and basically guilt trip them into making a “donation”. They would say, I gave you that flower and you are not going to give anything back.. Etc. It was an elaborate scheme. I think this is an example of overstepping the boundary of the rule. I think people need to learn that sometimes you give without receiving.
